Overview
Cape Town Christian Fellowship (CTCF) is the home congregation and founding base from which Christian Fellowship emerged. Established in 1980, CTCF is a non-denominational and non-traditional church, rooted in the shared life of worship, teaching, prayer, and mission.
Located in Cape Town, the church has grown as a place of gathering for believers from many communities, united in Christ and committed to the advancement of God’s Kingdom — locally, nationally, and globally.
CTCF serves as a living example of what Christian Fellowship seeks to encourage: a gathered people formed in faith, sent in love, and rooted in unity.
Sunday Gatherings
Sunday gatherings are the heart of congregational life at Cape Town Christian Fellowship. They are not performances or programmes, but acts of shared worship where the Church gathers to encounter God together.
These gatherings centre on:
- The worship of God
- The proclamation of Scripture
- Prayer and intercession
- Fellowship across communities
- Formation for faithful living
Each Sunday is understood as part of the Church’s ongoing response to God’s grace — a rhythm that forms believers and strengthens unity within the Body.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” (Acts 2:42)
Where Our Journey Began
Founded in 1980, Cape Town Christian Fellowship was established with a clear calling: to be a place where believers are formed in Christ and equipped to serve beyond the walls of the church.
From its beginnings, CTCF has been marked by:
- A non-denominational posture, welcoming believers across traditions
- A non-traditional expression, prioritising faithfulness over formality
- A commitment to shared leadership and the priesthood of all believers
- A vision that extends beyond a single congregation
Over the decades, the church has touched the lives of believers and churches across South Africa and internationally, carrying a message centred on the Kingdom of God.
A Home Base for Christian Fellowship
Cape Town Christian Fellowship functions as the home base within the wider Christian Fellowship framework. It is from this gathered life that teaching, mission, and service flow.
As Christian Fellowship grows, additional congregations may be recognised and added. Each will remain locally rooted while sharing in a common confession, rhythm, and commitment to unity in Christ.
CTCF therefore serves not as a template to be copied, but as an example of faithful presence — grounded in place, yet open to the wider work of God.
Taking the City — Together
CTCF understands mission as something shared by every believer. The calling to “take the city” is not limited to leaders or programmes, but belongs to the whole Body.
This vision affirms that:
- Every believer has a role to play
- Faith is lived in neighbourhoods, workplaces, and families
- The Church advances God’s work through obedience, service, and love
“For we are God’s fellow workers.” (1 Corinthians 3:9)
Relationship to Christian Fellowship
Within the Projects of Christian Fellowship, Cape Town Christian Fellowship represents the gathered expression of the Church — the place where worship, teaching, and fellowship anchor all other works.
It stands alongside community initiatives, formation projects, and partnerships as a reminder that the Church is first gathered before she is sent.
